I relied on buses and my parents for my transportation, to go just abo

I relied on buses and my parents for my transportation, to go just about everywhere, I never had a need for a car or driving for that matter. I turned 18 and was clueless to the world and its need for speed; however, i was in need of a license since I could no longer depend on mommy and daddy for getting from one place to another. Chaotic drivers fill the streets of South Texas where safe driving is no one's concern ,and I was determined to step out of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) with a driver's license. I woke up early morning on a Friday prepared to take my driving test. Never had I driven a car out on the busy streets ,yet I was determined my driving would be safe and proper since I had closely watched my father drive for the last 20 minutes. I stepped inside the busy building full of knots in my stomach wanting , so desperately, to pass the driver's online test. I had studied the night before and I was sure I'd pass it with flying colors. I patiently awaited for my number to be called as I used every last minute to cram for the online test I was about to take. I stepped into my cubicle afraid to look any other way but forward since the wretched mid-age woman seemed bitter and unhappy and sternly warned us not to cheat or we'd be kicked out of the DMV without a chance to retake the online test. Not long went by before the others around me started finishing up. As they were handing them in to the bitter middle aged meanie most of them with a moped look on their faces walked shamefully out the double doors. It was my turn and I was extremely nervous. By the skin of my teeth I managed to pass and I had moved on to the second phase. Driving the car was the real test and I was terrified of it! I was directed out the back door where there was a line of bashful teenagers awaiting their turn to get behind the wheel. As the female driving instructors took charge and started bossing all of us around, we were all horrified of what was next to happen. The youngest of the group, 16 year old Juan, took off first while the rest of us watched not wanting to look too hard. We could tell hid attempt of safe driving was useless since he almost ran over an old man driving a moped. He failed and so did the 3 people that followed him. I was next and I was not ready for driving a real car. I took off and as soon as I made a right onto the street I ran over the curb. This automatically made my instructor give me a failing grade ,and as I drove in the next entrance I cried a little. I was humiliated moped all the way home.
