I lived in the UK and worked for a waste skip hire company, I had worked there for many years as it was only a short walk from my home which was very handy.

The company was growing from strength to strength and because it was getting bigger we needed to move as we were out growing the premises that we were in now.

The new premises were decided upon and unfortunately for me they were going to be miles away and there was no bus route to the new premises. I phoned the local taxi company but it was going to cost me a fortune each week to get to and from work in fact nearly a days wages which wouldn't of been worth it

I decided to buy a moped siince learning to drive would take to long and I hadn't even started lessons yet, buying a moped seemed the obvious choice. My sister used to have a moped so she said she would give me a few lessons on it which was great as nowhere did lessons for a moped, only bikes over 125cc needed lessons apparently.

I went and bought my new moped well I say new it wasn't brand new out of the showroom it was a few years old but still in great condition, it had been very well looked after and I hoped to do the same.

I went online and looked up how to book my theory test and my practical test, I couldn't find any details on a theory test for a moped, the only theory test I could find was for a car. I found the number where you book a practical test for driving a moped so I decided to give them a ring and maybe they could answer the few questions that I had about getting started and out on the road.

The company I worked for were relocating in two weeks so that's all I had to get it sorted. The practical test centre were very helpful they told me it would be a 1 day course and the theory test was included as it was just a short time in a classroom learning your highway code before being taken outside for some training, finishing the day off with a 1 hour practical test and if all went well I could be riding home on my moped, they booked me in for the test on Saturday of this week, wow that was quick. So fingers crossed by next Monday I will be riding my new moped to work.
