Sometimes I think some teenagers just should try to get a license. A friend of ours son has had three wrecks and he isn't old enough to get a one yet. When he finally was old enough, his parents tried to teach him and he wouldn't listen to either one of them. He was finally given a moped and told if you learn to drive this, you can moveup to a car. He is now 19 and he is still driving that moped. Of course he can't drive it on the roads; he doesn't have his license or even insurance yet.

I suggested sending him to a driving lesson school, and his dad told me he looked into it and decided cheap driving lessons wouldn't help him if he wasn't going to listen to anyone anyway. I guess he has a point. I would dread trying to get him insurance with three wrecks on his record and he hasn't even applied for a license yet.

auto insurance is hard enough to get for a teenage boy who doesn’t have a bad driving record yet. I would hate to see what it is going to cost his parents to insure him now; probably two and arms and both legs!

I had to pay a higher insurance rate for my sons a year, my daughter's insurance rate I got a big break on because she is a girl. I do think that’s not entirely fair. I guess they just go by statistics in the way they charge and for whom. I figurethis young manwill probably still have to drive his moped until he shows he is responsible driver or some time goes by.

He will have to get out there and find auto insurance on his own one day. That cost will teach him better than what he has been doing to his poor parents. Just wait until one day when he has his own sons, will his auto insurance go up with a child who doesn’t listen as he didn’t, only time will tell. I guess we all live and learn better. Hopefully he will learn before he hurts someone or himself, or both.
